Inbox

The Inbox (envelope icon in the left menu, with an unread counter) collects everything addressed to you. It has five categories, each tab showing its unread count: Player, Bots, System, Alliance and Fleet.

Player and Bots: HyperCom chat. These two tabs are live conversations, not mail lists. Pick a contact on the left (contacts with unread messages are marked) or open a new one with the message button in rankings, the alliance roster or a spy report. Messages hold up to 2,000 characters and appear without reloading. The same chats are available from the HyperCom widget on the other game pages. Conversations with bot empires are kept apart; a bot answers now and then, at most once every 4 hours, and also gets in touch when you attack it.

System holds notices from the game, for example:

  • Friend request from ... and accepted friend requests.
  • Trade Hub offer from ...: a player claimed part of your Trade Hub offer; confirm within 5 minutes, with an Open offer link.
  • Spy probe detected on ...: who scanned which of your planets (see Intelligence), and a notice when the defender counterscanned your fleet.
  • Every diplomacy step of your alliance: war declared, begun, withdrawn or ended, peace offered, pacts proposed, in force, declined, cancelled or ended (see Alliance Diplomacy).
  • Alliance ... disbanded and whispers from the Void when your Void Resonance changes level.

Alliance holds your leader's broadcasts and the answer to your application (Welcome to ... or Application to ... rejected).

Fleet reports what your fleets did on arrival: transports delivered and received, fleets stationed, gathering or collecting, excursions and colony ships arrived, returns (with returned ships, delivered cargo or combat loot, and VXP credited), allied defense and Void boss battles with a link to the combat report, Void incursions, wormhole losses or collapse, a destroyed Dyson ring and Trade Union deliveries.

Reading and cleaning up. Message lists show 20 messages per page; only the page you open is marked as read. Mark all as read and Delete all act on the whole category, and each message has its own delete button. Deleting removes a message only from your view. A Report button flags an abusive message. Battle results themselves are in Reports, not here.
