Void Incursions
Only on servers with the Void realm, currently Era (www) and Vex.
A Void incursion is the Void breaking into a player's home system. It is a Void boss sized to that player's own fleet. If nobody breaks it in time, it raids the player's home colony. Incursions belong to the Void Arc and follow the hottest system of the world's Irregularity.
When incursions appear
- Incursions start once the hottest galaxy system's Irregularity reaches 25%. One incursion can be open at a time; every further 25% allows one more, up to 4 at 100%.
- The Void breaks in where the galaxy is most disturbed. It first picks players whose own home system has reached 25%, the hottest home system first.
- If there is no such player, it picks at random among the 10 strongest players of the world by total points.
- Either way the player must have played within the last 3 days, must not be in vacation mode and must have seen no incursion in the last 72 hours. Bots are never chosen.
- The incursion appears on an empty void tile in the chosen player's home system.
- The check runs with the hourly Irregularity update, and at most one new incursion opens per update.
- The chosen player receives an inbox message with the incursion's position, the colony it threatens and the time left. Other players get no message: they find it in Galaxy.
- Incursions already open stay until they are broken or run out, even if the Irregularity falls again.
Fighting an incursion
An incursion is fought like any other Void boss: send a Boss combat fleet to its tile. See Void Boss Combat for launching, tactics and the counterattack.
- Everyone can join. It is a full boss: any player of the world may attack it, whatever their Void Resonance.
- Size: its hull is about 8 times the raw firepower of the threatened player's fleet, raised by the hottest system's Irregularity (12 times at 50%, 16 times at 100%), and never smaller than the world's smallest regular boss. Shields come on top, as on every boss.
- You cannot break it alone. Your damage to it is capped at 20% of its maximum hull per 24 hours, as on every boss, so the threatened player needs help from neighbours or the alliance within the 48 hours.
- Rewards follow the usual boss rules: resources, Artifacts, Xenogen and Void Experience for your share of the damage, and the kill bonus for everyone who fought it when it falls.
- An incursion fought counts like any boss for your Void Resonance and the Void ranking in Rankings, and its fights raise the Irregularity of its system as all Void fights do.
If it is not broken
An incursion must be broken within 48 hours. The result is settled at the next hourly update:
- Broken in time: the threatened player receives a message that the colony is safe.
- Not broken: it raids the home colony once and takes 15% of each stored resource (Aslit, Crlit, Iopla and SEM). It never takes the Resource Bunker's reserve; as with fleet raids, the bunker protects nothing while the planet has an energy deficit. A message lists what was taken.
- Vacation mode: if the threatened player is in vacation mode when the time runs out, the incursion fades without a raid.
After any incursion, the same player is not targeted again for 72 hours, counted from when it appeared.
Tips
- Keep your home colony's energy positive and upgrade the Resource Bunker: its reserve is the part an incursion can never take.
- Spend or move large stocks from the home colony while an incursion is open.
- Ask for help early: the incursion sits in your home system, so your neighbours' flights are short, and every fighter earns boss loot.
- Battles at your home system and battles your fleets start from there both raise its Irregularity. A calm home system is less likely to draw the Void first.
- Keeping wars small keeps the hottest system cooler, and with it the number of incursions.
