Xenogen
Xenogen is the in-game name for a numeric player currency used in Biolab research and Archeotech relic creation. It is not a ship component, ordinary mine output or individually equipped item.
Sources and award timing
Void Boss Combat pays Xenogen from your actual shield and hull contribution. Defeating the boss is not required for a partial payout; the calculated integer amount can be zero for a small contribution. There is no separate random Xenogen-drop roll or final-kill distribution in the boss resolver. The amount travels with the fleet and joins the player balance on return.
Successful Excursions have a separate 40% configured extra roll for Xenogen, independently from the Artifacts roll. The overall mission must succeed first. Amounts scale with fleet strength and recorded travel duration; after three successful excursions in a rolling 24-hour window, later successful rewards are reduced to 2–6% of the normal scaled payout. A launch or successful result alone therefore does not promise a particular quantity.
Excursion Xenogen must fit cargo. It is allocated before Artifacts and ordinary resources, but existing cargo reduces the available capacity. Rewards not fitting the hold are not credited. Xenogen is credited when the fleet completes its return; VXP uses different timing. Boss Xenogen currently has no cargo-capacity reduction.
Boss payouts also use a recorded encounter reward multiplier based on maximum hull and the world's top-human economy benchmark. This grows rewards with world strength while keeping the same proportional participation rule. The multiplier stays fixed across hits; it does not scale commander experience. See boss rewards and growth examples for the formula and existing-encounter policy. Excursion rewards use their own calculation.
Use and ownership
Xenogen is stored on your player balance rather than inside a planet's ordinary resource storage. Biolab and Archeotech show it alongside their other costs. Biolab research pays currencies up front when queued, with the effect applied on completion. Waiting research cancellation refunds all paid currencies; current research cancellation uses the displayed configured refund rate.
Relic creation requires both Xenogen and Artifacts plus an unlocked Archeotech collection: Common costs 50 Xenogen, Uncommon 2,500 and Rare 125,000 per relic. Higher rarity normally comes from fusion; see Relics for promotion chances and quality. Fusion consumes two relics without an additional Xenogen charge, while deletion gives no Xenogen salvage.
No passive Xenogen extraction, player trading or currency-transfer mission is implemented in the inspected paths. Do not confuse a report's earned amount with a spendable balance before the returning fleet is credited.
