Assembly
Assembly is where you design blueprints; it builds nothing itself. Its areas are Active, Ship Assembly, Drone Assembly and Archive. Ship designs are built in the Shipyard, drone designs in Defense. The full design guide, with skeletons, assembly points, component research and tactical modules, is Ship Assembly.
- Slots: ships and drones each have 3 active slots by default plus one per Assembly Engineering level.
- Edit blueprint shows built, lost and scrapped totals; renaming costs 100 G.E.L.D. by default.
- Upgrade blueprint raises the design to Mark I, II or III for Combat Data Points, and you can pick new components in the same step. Marks add +3%, +7% and +15% to hull, shield and damage (pure civilian ships also gain cargo and speed) and cannot be lowered. Each mark step costs the design's total resource cost ÷ 1,000 × 100, 200 or 500 points. Existing ships of the blueprint get the updated design.
- Retire moves a design to the Archive and frees its slot, but only once no ships or drones of it exist and no build or retrofit order uses it. Reactivate needs a free slot.
