Shipyard

The Shipyard builds ships from your active ship blueprints at the selected colony. Each card shows the design's research-adjusted stats, its cost, the build time per ship on this planet and how many are stationed there; Max enters the largest amount you can afford. Design ships first in Ship Assembly.

Requirements. Orders need a Planetary Shipyard of level 1 or higher on the colony. Designs on the Titan Battleship skeleton (T3) or larger, shown in-game as C3 to C6, also need an Orbital Shipyard, which requires Planetary Shipyard level 6.

Build time per ship is the design's base construction time:

  • × 0.9 per Planetary Shipyard level for skeletons T0 to T2, or × 0.9 per Orbital Shipyard level for T3 and up (for these only the Orbital Shipyard counts),
  • × 0.6 per Robot Assembly level and × the server's construction speed,
  • × 0.8 for combat ships (any weapon above the base option) under the Military State government.

The Construction figure in the header is the combined Planetary Shipyard and Robot Assembly factor. G.E.L.D. speed-ups do not apply to ships.

Queue. Each colony holds up to 10 active orders, builds and retrofits together. The full cost is deducted when you order, orders run one after another, and ships join the planetary fleet one at a time as each is finished, so the first ships are usable before the batch completes. Cancelling a waiting order refunds 80% of its cost; cancelling the running order refunds 60% of the cost of the ships not yet built. The remaining orders move up.

Retrofit converts stationed ships into another active design. Both designs must use the Nova Frigate (T0) skeleton, and your Retrofit research level must be higher than the highest tier among the source design's engine, weapons, hull plating and shield (level 1 covers designs with only T0 parts). The ships leave your stock when the order is placed. Per ship you pay the cost difference between the designs (only for resources where the target costs more), and each ship takes 1.1 × the difference in base build time, at least 2 seconds; shipyard and Robot Assembly levels do not shorten this. Retrofit orders cannot be cancelled.

Scrapyard instantly removes stationed ships at this colony: 75% of their resource cost returns to the planet, and you pay a G.E.L.D. fee of 0.1% of their total resource cost. Drones and ships away on a mission cannot be scrapped.

Tips: Robot Assembly is the strongest time lever, each level cuts build time by 40%. For big hulls, raise the Orbital Shipyard, not the Planetary Shipyard. Queue long batches instead of many small orders, since the queue has only 10 places.
