SEM
SEM stands for Stella Energy Module. It is both a stored physical resource and the fuel for fleet launches. It is separate from energy: energy powers production, while SEM is stock that can be spent or consumed.
Production and power
The SEM Factory unlocks with Energy Research level 4. Its output depends on level, production setting and energy supply, with Mining Efficiency and applicable economy bonuses also contributing. A planet assigned SEM can apply its matching planetary, Planet Resource Lab and relic bonuses to positive SEM production. Thermal Borehole does not produce SEM.
Fusion Reactor unlocks with Energy Research level 5 and consumes SEM to generate energy. Its SEM upkeep grows by 8% with each level and is not increased by mining-efficiency or other production bonuses. If fuel cannot sustain it, its effective output and production setting are reduced. Keep a reserve for both power and planned launches; a positive factory rate does not guarantee a positive net SEM balance. Solar Farm supplies power without consuming SEM.
Spending and recovery
Fleet launches deduct SEM fuel from the origin before loading any SEM cargo. Fuel varies with the fleet, route and selected engine speed; check the displayed cost. Recall does not refund it. SEM also appears in building, research, ship and defense costs.
SEM can be carried by Transport or Station, retrieved from your other colony by Collect, looted in eligible raids, earned from Void Boss Combat or rewarded by successful Excursions. Random event debris adds no SEM. Combat debris can contain SEM from destroyed units, and extractor fleets can recover it after other debris resources have filled available cargo.
Storage and trade
Allocate part of your shared Resource Storage to SEM in Planet Production. Full storage stops further positive production, while ongoing fuel consumption can reduce the stock. Resource Bunker can protect part of ordinary stock from raid loot. Cargo limits deliveries and debris recovery; boss rewards currently bypass cargo fitting.
Trade Hub supports offers and contact with traders, but listing SEM does not automatically exchange it or reserve it for delivery. Arrange the actual shipment through Fleet Operations.
