New page

Debris Fields
Debris fields are resources waiting at a coordinate in VoidVerse. They can come from random events or destroyed combat units. Once you have extractor-equipped ships, they offer another way to fund your colony—particularly if you start after stronger empires have already developed.

Find and collect a field
# Open Galaxy and look for the debris marker. Its tooltip shows the available Aslit, Crlit, Iopla and SEM; note the coordinate and compare the amount with your fleet's cargo capacity.
# Use the debris collection shortcut, or enter the coordinate in Fleet, and choose the Extract mission. Collect is a different mission for taking ordinary resources from your own colony.
# Select only ships fitted with an extractor module. A plain cargo ship cannot collect debris, and every ship selected for a debris extraction fleet must have an extractor. In Assembly, the first extractor module unlocks at Ship Skeleton level 3; transport and extractor modules cannot be combined on the same ship.
# Check the launch's SEM cost, travel time and available command slot. Leave cargo room for the field rather than loading the fleet with resources you meant to transport.
# Follow the mission in Fleet Movement. Collection happens on arrival, and the resources are carried back with the returning fleet.

The field is not reserved when you launch. If another fleet removes resources before you arrive, you collect only what remains. Extraction is limited by cargo capacity and takes resources in this order: Aslit, Crlit, Iopla, then SEM. A small hold may fill with Aslit before reaching the other resources. Larger capacity or another trip may be needed.

Debris can also be collected at your own colony, including the launch colony, when a field exists. Extraction can be available at another player's colony even when an Attack mission is blocked by protection; choose the mission carefully. There is no timed expiry or passive decay implemented for these stored fields: resources remain until collected, and later events or combat can add to the same pool.

How random event fields spawn
Random events can leave Aslit, Crlit and Iopla in unowned areas of empty space. Look for debris markers in Galaxy and check the amounts before sending a fleet. These fields do not appear at central stars or active boss locations, and they do not follow a guaranteed timetable.

A new event can add resources to an existing field. The resources remain until collected; there is no timed expiry or gradual decay. Send extractor-equipped ships on an Extract mission as described above. Fields are shared, so another fleet may reach them first, and your cargo capacity limits what you can bring home.

Strength-based field size
Random fields grow with the typical strength of active human players in their own world. Their size follows the middle of that population rather than its strongest empire, so one extreme leader does not determine the reward. Bots and inactive players are excluded, and the amount varies between events.

This can give a late starter a useful opportunity without first winning a battle. You do not need to match the world's established empires to collect a field: you need the extractor research, ships and fuel described in Beginner's Guide. Check the actual field and your fleet's capacity before launching.

Combat debris
Resolved fleet combat adds debris at the battle's target coordinate from destroyed units on both sides. Current settings return 40% of destroyed ships' resource costs and 60% of destroyed defensive units' resource costs, rounded down for each loss entry and resource. This can include SEM as well as Aslit, Crlit and Iopla.

Combat debris and random event debris share the coordinate's resource pool. The same Extract mission and extractor requirement apply to collection. A debris marker does not mean a battle is safe to start; consult Reports, Surveillance and Fleet before committing combat ships.
